When it comes to creating your dating app profile, it's great that you enjoy walks on the beach, fine dining and laughter but if you’re willing to share your individuality, you’ll attract your ideal partner quicker and easier.

You can do this by revealing the details that make you uniquely you.

I understand that this might make you uncomfortable especially, if you’re introverted or were taught to hide or play small.

Drawing attention to yourself may seem daunting but it’s the only way to attract the right man to you.

Take it from one who understands how this feels.

When I first started dating after my divorce, my dating profile was pretty generic. I included very little about who I truly am, because I was used to molding myself into being whatever the man I was with wanted me to be. I wasn’t comfortable speaking my truth and in doing so, I ended up meeting lots of men who were looking for long-term relationships and weren't a match for me. All my dates were a complete misalignment because I was fearful of being truthful.

I thought that I needed to pretend that I was looking for a relationship because I was embarrassed that all I wanted to do was connect and get out of my depression by going on a few dates.

The truth was, I wasn’t ready for a relationship. I was still healing from my divorce and I was in no shape to be in a relationship.

I feel bad that I wasted a lot of wonderful men’s time, because it was so ingrained in me before and during my marriage to pretend to be someone I wasn't, to play small and ignore those wonderful things that make me who I am. I hadn’t yet understood the power of being me, a single woman who enjoys being outgoing, vivacious and who values true connection and authentic communication.

Once I started meditating and taking classes of personal development, I began to heal that part of me that felt broken. I began feeling more comfortable in my skin and revealed the parts about myself that makes me who I am.

That, in turn, allowed me to attract wonderful high quality men who wanted the same as I.

I want to encourage you to be yourself and let that beautiful personality of yours shine through. Share more about who you are, and don't be afraid to be genuine, open, direct and transparent.

If you're truly passionate about walks on the beach, share the reasons why you love them in your dating profile and list what makes certain beaches your favorites. The more specific you can be, the quicker you’ll be able to connect with those you have the most in common with.

You’ll also be able to connect with them on a deeper level over a shared interest which can lead to a date at the beach.

Whether you’re into true fine dining, or you’re like me and can’t stay away from Chick-fil-A and croissants, share that in your profile.

Include the details of the dining experience that resonates with you. 

The little things that make you stand out will be the things that attract people more in alignment with you.

Be truthful and honest. I consider myself a carnivore who loves garlic and red onions and more than likely would not enjoy dining with someone who is vegan or dislikes pungent, spicy flavors.

It’s always better to know in advance what you’re into rather than wasting your time and their’s by pretending to be someone you’re not.

So many people have specific dietary needs and desires, as well as allergies. Don’t shy away from including those in your profile.

Highlight what sets you apart from the crowd and makes you special.

Embrace your unique qualities and let others see what makes you truly one-of-a-kind.

Remember, it's not about casting a wide net and hoping for the best. Focus on quality over quantity. Take the time to connect with individuals who truly understand and appreciate you.
